Jung Kuen Bong
A tall Korean southpaw originally scouted as an outfielder at the World Championships in 1997. Bong can either start or relieve, and was traded to Cincinnati during Spring Training in 2004. Bong missed the entire next season with an injury and his tenure with the Reds came to an abrupt end in May 2006 where he was in the Minor League when he requested to be released. Bong simply wanted to go back home to South Korea and play professional baseball there so he can stay close with his father, who has been ill. Pictured here is his card from the 2003 Fleer Tradition set, where Bong have autographed for me in Korean.
